DIPLOMATIC
AND CONSULAR MISSIONS ACCREDITED IN
THE F.R. OF YUGOSLAVIA
In NATO actions so far on residential quarters
in Belgrade, the Chinese Embassy was targeted by NATO bombers as well as
another 19 diplomatic missions, embassies or Ambassador's residences, which
have suffered great or less extensive damages during the bombardment of
civilian targets in the vicinity of these buildings.
(1) The Embassy of the Peoples's Republic of China
and the Chinese Ambassador's residence were bombed by NATO aircraft on
the nights of 7-8 May. Three Chinese journalist died and eight other Embassy
staff were seriously or lightly injured. The Embassy building and the Ambassador's
residence, property of the PR of China, sustained heavy damages.
(2) During nightly bombings of central Belgrade
and residential areas by NATO warplanes, in the period from 18 to 20 May
1999, 19 diplomatic missions accredited in Belgrade (Embassy buildings
or Ambassador's residences) suffered damages as a result of ensuing detonations,
which are as follows:
